Q: Should I turn up early if I’ve never been to The Body Firm classes before?

A. Yes, you should come to the studio 10 minutes early to meet the instructor and fill out a questionaire.

Q: What do you do at The Body Firm BarreConcept classes?

A. BarreConcept is a creative workout, which combines the precision of Pilates, alignment of yoga and the grace and technique of ballet. Add to this the strength from sports conditioning and you have all the elements of a typical BarreConcept class. This unique programme is designed to tone the thighs, lift the butt, sculpt the arms and flatten the abdominals. Full range muscular contractions are performed, followed by end range isometric contractions and then a static hold in order to fatigue the muscle. Stretches follow directly afterwards in order to elongate the muscles, creating that long, lean physique. Equipment such as balls, weights and bands are added to the class to challenge the body further.

Q: Do I need to have a dancing background?

A: Not at all. BarreConcept technique was designed to encourage, inspire and challenge all individuals, at all fitness levels.

Q: How often should I attend The Body Firm classes?

A: For best results we encourage clients to take class 3-4 times per week.

Q: Do I need to bring anything to the classes

A: No, only yourself and a bottle of water. All mats and equipment is supplied by The Body Firm…..remember the water it’s essential to stay hydrated during exercise!

Q: What should I wear?

A: Any comfortable and easy to move in.

Q: Can I take class if I am pregnant or recently had a baby?

A: Pregnant clients should consult their doctor prior to attending any classes. You should inform the instructor that you are pregnant and have been given the medical go ahead to attend classes.
